Company History

In 1991 Mr. Farrag and Mr. Stipsits hired a few employees and established Fasti, Farrag and Stipsits GmbH in Bregenz, Austria to serve the global plastics industry. Mr. Farrag's invention, the energy saving Mold Sweat Protection system (MSP) was the foundation of the company. The Mold Sweat Protection system guaranteed the perfect quality of molded plastic parts in a fast process with high stability and provided a corrosion protection for the molds and the processing machines. At that time, they signed on with a local subcontractor to produce the MSP (refrigeration dryers) exclusively for FASTI while FASTI's technicians installed the systems on molding machines.

In 1992 Mr. Farrag invented two new resin-drying systems and the internal cooling process for blow molded products. Patents were applied for and Fasti took their line to the K-show for exhibition in Germany. The innovation attracted a great deal of attention and helped to gain recognition in the plastics industry. With great recognition, came an increase in business. Unfortunately, the manufacturing company that was under contract declared bankruptcy leaving FASTI to manufacture the equipment in its limited space in Bregenz.

The growth of the company, the development of new systems and the unplanned manufacturing meant that more financing would now be needed. This lead to the partnership with Apparatebau Hopfgarten and the decision was made to move the company to a new building in Hopfgarten in 1995. Mr. Farrag was interested in the manufacturing side of the business but the limited source of qualified personnel in and around Hopfgarten forced him to depend heavily upon subcontractors for production. Mr. Farrag continued the development of new equipment, with the assistance and marketing expertise of Mr. Herbert Maier, increasing the product line over the years and including equipment serving different fields of the plastic processing industry.

In 1997 Mr. Farrag relocated to Elgin, IL in the US to establish a subsidiary. Fasti USA, Inc. introduced its products to the American market at the NPE show in Chicago where they were met with much enthusiasm. To service this new market, Mr. Farrag was interested in starting manufacturing plant in the United States, but the plan was rejected and the suggestion was made to close the new office in Elgin.

Rather than shelving this new business, Mr. Farrag obtained complete ownership of Fasti USA, Inc. with the stipulation that some products would be purchased from Fasti, Farrag & Stipsits Ges.m.b.H. He now had the sole rights to sell FASTI's products in North and South America. APEC, a known water chiller manufacturer, in Elgin, was brought on to manufacture new products such as the Blow Molding Booster (BMB) and the Internal Water Cooling System (IWCS).

To better meet the needs of the plastic industry worldwide, and in an effort to continue with the highest levels of technological innovation, in the summer of 2003, Fasti USA made the decision to sever its relationship with Fasti, Farrag & Stipsits Ges.m.b.H.

As 2003 came to a close, Fasti USA, Inc. (A Farrag Company) established a new European subsidiary, Fasti GmbH. This move was made to continue serving the European market with the utmost in customer service.

With the new year 2004, will come new ventures and partnerships, all of which will help to increase the quality of plastics and the productivity of plastic processing machines.
